Prioritizing Internal Compute

While Google has fulfilled some plans to sell TPUs to specific customers, the company is effectively hoarding its AI accelerators for internal research. By prioritizing DeepMind's needs in reasoning, robotics, and scientific discovery over external cloud demand, Google is transforming its hardware fleet into a strategic moat. The company is developing the Frozen v2 chip, which aims to hardwire Gemini's architecture directly into the hardware.
