AlexTech is committed to making its website accessible to all people, regardless of motor, visual, hearing, or cognitive disabilities. We constantly work to improve the browsing experience and remove barriers that may prevent access to our content.

Reference Standards

This website is developed in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, as required by EU Directive 2016/2102 and the European Accessibility Act (EAA) 2025. The site is also optimized to comply with Italian Legislative Decree No. 106 of August 10, 2018.

Conformance Status

The AlexTech website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA. The team is committed to a continuous improvement process to achieve full conformance. Checks are performed periodically via automated tools (Lighthouse, axe DevTools, WAVE) and manual reviews.

Accessibility Features Implemented

  • Skip link: A "Skip to content" link is present at the top of every page to bypass navigation.
  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are reachable via Tab key. A visible :focus-visible ring is present on all focusable elements.
  • Semantic structure: The site uses semantic HTML5 elements (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer>) and hierarchical headings for proper screen reader navigation.
  • ARIA landmarks: ARIA attributes identify the main page areas: main navigation, search, breadcrumb, cookie banner.
  • Alternative text: All meaningful images have descriptive alt attributes. Decorative images have alt="" or aria-hidden="true".
  • Color contrast: The contrast ratio between text and background meets WCAG AA thresholds (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Text resizing: The site can be used with zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Reduced motion: The site respects the prefers-reduced-motion OS setting, disabling animations, parallax, and custom cursors.
  • AI-generated content: All AI-generated content is clearly labeled as such (Tech News section).
  • Forms: Form fields include properly associated <label> elements, aria-required attributes, and client-side validation.
  • Custom cursor: The custom glow cursor is only available on desktop with JavaScript enabled. It is automatically disabled on touch devices and reduced-motion mode.

Known Limitations

Despite our commitment, some areas may have limitations:

  • Some embedded multimedia content (YouTube videos) may not be fully accessible.
  • The podcast audio player is a custom element; it works with keyboard and screen reader but may not support all advanced native player features.
  • AI-generated images may not have complete text descriptions in every case.

Testing and Monitoring

The site's accessibility is verified periodically with the following tools:
