The Federal Shutdown Mandate

Centralizing Control over Frontier AI
Hugging Face co-founder Thomas Wolf described the incident as a "wake-up call" for the industry. This move toward government intervention coincides with efforts by major labs to restrict open-weight models under the guise of safety, while simultaneously protecting their market dominance.
