Atmospheric risks and orbital congestion

Environmental groups and astronomers argue that deploying millions of new satellites to support these hubs would create a metallic ring around Earth. This density would not only obstruct telescopes, effectively blinding ground-based astronomy, but also release staggering levels of pollution during launch phases. Elon Musk contends that Earth's infrastructure can no longer keep pace with AI's energy and thermal demands.
