Gemini Notebook is changing how it builds presentations and explainer videos. Until now, a single chat request produced the finished result in one step. Now Notebook first proposes an outline, and the user can intervene before the content is produced.
The change applies to two of the tool's most used formats, Slide Decks and Video Overviews. In its October 19 announcement, Google says the feature comes from user feedback and that the creation flow is now guided step by step, based on the sources loaded into the notebook.

How co-creation works
The process starts in chat. When you ask Notebook for slides or a video overview, it suggests topics to include, drawn from your uploaded documents. You can pick one of them or write your own, then set format, length, language and visual style.
Before final generation comes the review. With the new Review toggle you can read the outline notes for slides, or the producer notes for a video, and send feedback to change them. Only then does Notebook produce the file.
Availability
Google says co-creation will reach all Gemini Notebook users over the coming week, globally. The company's announcement was written by Viraj Doshi and Shan Wang.

The move addresses a known limit of automatic generators: the output arrives without the user being able to correct what it covers before it is built. Choosing topics and structure now happens at the start, when changing them costs less.
