Gemini can now use your account data while you drive. Personal Intelligence arrives on Android Auto today and, in the coming months, on cars with Google built-in, vehicles that run Google software directly in the infotainment system rather than projecting the phone's interface.

Gemini draws on Gmail, Calendar, Photos, Maps, YouTube and Search. Saying "take me to my doctor's appointment" works without dictating an address, because the assistant pulls the appointment from your calendar. It can also find a place in your photos, such as a car wash you snapped last week, and start navigation there.

The feature is off by default. Google tends to nudge users to share data inside Gemini, so it may already be on without you realizing: in that case the setting carries over to Android Auto. On Google built-in cars, personal results appear only if a phone is connected over Bluetooth, and the feature can be turned off in the car's settings even when the phone has it enabled.

The controls sit in the "Connected Apps" section of the Gemini app, where Workspace (Gmail, Calendar and so on), Search and Photos can be toggled separately. It is worth checking them, since other people in the car may see the screen.

Google says it does not use personal data to train Gemini, but it does use inputs and outputs during use. Some answers may contain personal information, though the company tries to filter it. Before enabling the feature in your car, it is a good moment to review these settings.
