Rockstar Games has released the launch trailer for GTA 6, just over a month before the game arrives on November 19. The video does not go deep into the story, but shows a world already partly seen in last month's previews, with gameplay scenes of striking visual quality.
The detail that caught the attention of the Xbox community is where the footage comes from: the trailer was captured entirely on base PS5, not on the PS5 Pro, as might have been expected. It also opens with an advert stating that the game "plays best on PS5", a choice unlikely to please Xbox fans.
The trailer is on Rockstar's official YouTube channel and has already passed millions of views. Pure Xbox notes that Xbox could prepare its own version of the video, but for now there is no sign of one.
What to expect on Xbox
According to technical analyses, the Xbox Series X and PS5 have very similar performance, so what has been seen so far should look practically identical on Microsoft's most powerful console. The situation of the Xbox Series S, the least powerful console in the family, is less certain, since adapting such an ambitious title will require significant compromises.
The trailer also confirms the protagonists Jason and Lucia and features a new song by French band Justice, who composed the original score. The game will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while no date has yet been announced for PC.
Meanwhile, ahead of launch, the promotional campaign is spreading into the real world too: in Miami, some cars have been customised with Vice City liveries, and a basketball game has been rebranded with a GTA 6 theme.
