Philips Hue is about to bring Custom AI Behaviors to the Hue Bridge Pro. The feature was announced at IFA 2026 and was due in early October, but it has not arrived yet. According to a report, the company has confirmed it will roll out next week.

The feature lets users describe in everyday language the lighting automation they want, instead of building rules by hand. Users write what they want, such as a scene for the evening or a behavior tied to a time of day, and the system turns it into a personalized automation. It is exclusive to the Hue Bridge Pro, the company's new hub, designed to run complex algorithms and AI-powered features with a more powerful chip.

Philips Hue had set the schedule on September 3, when it presented the feature alongside other software updates. With the delay, the launch slips by a few weeks from the original announcement.

The rollout will arrive as a software update for the Bridge Pro. Meanwhile, the Hue ecosystem keeps expanding: lights connected to an existing bridge recently moved to local control through Matter, without the cloud.

The news fits a wider trend in smart home, where manufacturers are bringing AI directly into lighting apps. Tying the feature to specific hardware, rather than making it available on every bridge, sets Philips Hue apart from several rivals.

Details of the rollout remain to be seen: which users get the update first and which features are included at launch. The next step is the release expected next week.
