JustWatch, until now known mainly as a guide to finding where to watch a film or series, is becoming a streaming service too. From today JustWatch TV is available in Italy and ten other markets, built into the group's app and official website, which reports about 50 million users worldwide.
The launch covers Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain, Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with France due to join at the end of the month. The catalogue starts with content from 30 partners, including Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street, Vortex Media, BIM, Cineverse, LEONINE Studios, SND and Altitude. Titles already free to watch include Birdman, Fight Club, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Ad Astra, alongside hundreds of other films.

CEO David Croyé said the launch fills some gaps in the platform, making it easier to discover and watch films and series, including hard-to-find titles, directly in the app. The service combines editorial picks with recommendations based on viewing data gathered from its audience.
The platform has three tiers. JustWatch TV Free offers a curated selection of free titles with ads. JustWatch TV Store is a growing catalogue of recent and popular films to rent. JustWatch TV Plus removes ads from the free content and adds exclusive app features; it costs 3.99 euros a month, with a seven-day free trial. A limited-time offer also includes a lifetime subscription for 49.99 euros.
A new role for the group
The service is also a commercial move. The group says JustWatch TV will provide even deeper audience data for JustWatch Media, the division that plans and buys advertising campaigns for films on YouTube, Meta and TikTok. Free ad-supported streaming thus becomes a new source of data and advertising.

The group sees the launch as a starting point, with work under way on new content partners, a larger catalogue and global expansion. JustWatch TV is already available in apps for Fire TV, Android TV, webOS, Roku, and on iOS and Android.
