Some Galaxy owners who installed One UI 9 are noticing odd behaviour in the status bar. The problem appears when the bar is customised with Good Lock module from Samsung's customisation suite that lets users change the status bar and drop-down menu.">QuickStar, the Good Lock module that controls what appears at the top of the screen, where the clock sits and how the drop-down menu works. According to reports, system icons react to the wrong toggles: turning on Do Not Disturb makes the Wi-Fi icon that had disappeared reappear, while turning off the network indicator makes the Wi-Fi icon vanish.
The Good Lock support team has confirmed the problem, explaining that it concerns how the system handles switching some icons on or off in certain situations. Samsung, however, cannot give a date for the fix: correcting it requires changes to the underlying platform software, which then must pass further review.

A second problem with a different cause
Not every icon that disappears stems from this bug. A separate, simpler case involves Wi-Fi, signal and alarm icons vanishing and leaving only the time, date and battery visible. Samsung says this is not a bug: when a longer date format is selected in QuickStar, the status bar has no room to show every icon, so some are hidden. The suggested fix is to switch to a shorter date format, with no software update needed.

The stable One UI 9 update is meanwhile reaching more Galaxy devices, after its debut on the S26 and its extension to the S25 and foldables. Anyone who has installed the stable version and uses QuickStar should, for now, avoid longer date formats if they want to see all icons, while waiting for Samsung to release the fix for the other problem.
