XGIMI has launched the AURA 3 series, two ultra-short-throw laser projectors designed to bring a big screen into the living room without ceiling mounts or a dedicated theater room. The launch runs on Kickstarter with campaign prices: $2,399 for the AURA 3 Max and $2,199 for the AURA 3 Pro, against list prices of $4,999 and $3,999.

The core of the offer is brightness and contrast. The flagship AURA 3 Max reaches up to 5,700 ISO lumens and 8,000:1 native contrast thanks to the Dual Dynamic Iris system inherited from the TITAN Noir series. The light source is an RGB triple-laser, and the X-VISION AI processor handles the image. The AURA 3 Pro tops out at 4,100 ISO lumens.

The feature most relevant for home setups is throw distance. With a 0.163:1 throw ratio, the projector draws a 120-inch image from about 8 inches away from the wall, and can scale up to 200 inches. The architecture was first shown at IFA 2026, where XGIMI explained that a dual DLPC 8545 setup cuts input lag to 1 ms.

On gaming, the series supports 4K at 120Hz with VRR, ALLM and AMD FreeSync Premium. The high refresh rate also helps reduce the rainbow effect typical of DLP projectors, in both 2D and 3D. The package includes Dolby Vision, HDR10+, IMAX Enhanced, built-in Google TV and 80W Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby Atmos.

For a complete setup, XGIMI offers bundles with screens from 100 to 150 inches, in Fresnel ALR and Black Grid ALR versions, plus a variant with an Ascend UST screen. Campaign bundle prices range from $3,699 to $5,799. Projector shipments start in December 2026, fixed ALR screens in January 2027, and Ascend floor-rising screens in February 2027.

An official price for Italy has not been announced; the closest reference is a previous-generation XGIMI Aura listed at about 2,385 euros on idealo.
