XMG is returning to 18-inch gaming laptops after fifteen years. The last model in that size category dates back to 2011. The Schenker brand has put on sale the PRO 18 and the PRO 18 Value Edition, first shown at Computex 2026 in June, starting at €2,849 for the cheaper version.
The two machines share the same chassis and cooling system. They differ only in processor, graphics card and display refresh rate. Both use an 18-inch IPS panel with 2560 × 1600 resolution, 500 nits of brightness and 100% DCI-P3 coverage.
Differences between the two models
The standard PRO 18 uses the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with 24 cores and the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPU, rated at up to 140W including Dynamic Boost. Its display reaches 300 Hz. The Value Edition uses the Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus with 20 cores and the RTX 5070 with 12 GB of GDDR7, limited to 115W, with a 180 Hz display.
The cooling system has three fans, one dedicated to memory. XMG also uses phase-change thermal material on the CPU and GPU. DDR5 memory goes up to 128 GB through two SO-DIMM slots, and storage is handled by two M.2 slots, one with PCIe 5.0 connectivity.
Size, weight and connectivity
The PRO 18 measures 400 × 291.5 mm, is between 24.9 and 26.5 mm thick and weighs about 2.9 kg. The Value Edition weighs 2.82 kg. Both have a 99.8Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, Mini DisplayPort 2.1 and 2.5GbE networking. The keyboard is full-size with 1.8 mm key travel, and the FHD webcam supports Windows Hello.
Prices
In their base configurations both models come with 32 GB of DDR5-5600 and a 1 TB SSD. The PRO 18 starts at €3,299 including VAT, the Value Edition at €2,849. Bestware, which sells the machines through its online store, lists prices with up to 19% VAT, and XMG offers a 5% discount for orders placed by October 20.
The return of the 18-inch format is an attempt to bring the brand back into a segment that had emptied out in the meantime. A starting price below €3,000 for a machine with an RTX 50 GPU makes it a more affordable option than higher-end models.
