REDMAGIC 12 Pro is built around one goal: getting the most out of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, Qualcomm's chip made on a 2-nanometer process. Every choice, from the lights on the back to the fan, the liquid loop and the gaming software, revolves around performance. The Italian price starts at 899 euros, and sales are expected in mid-November.
The chip uses a 2+4 Oryon core setup, with the two performance cores reaching 5 GHz. Qualcomm claims 37% better CPU energy efficiency and 40% better GPU efficiency. Two proprietary REDMAGIC chips sit alongside the SoC: RedCore R5, which handles touch, lighting, super resolution and frame generation, and G1, the controller that enables the 185 Hz refresh rate.

The screen is a 6.85-inch OLED at 2,688 x 1,216 pixels, in a 20:9 format, refreshing at 185 Hz across its full surface. The manufacturer quotes peak brightness of 1,900 nits in global mode and 5,000 nits locally. The 16-megapixel front camera sits beneath the panel and is practically invisible when the screen is on.
Cooling is what sets the model apart. The AquaCore 3.0 system combines a dual-loop liquid circuit, liquid metal 4.0, a vapor chamber and a fan spinning at up to 25,500 RPM. The air vents are on the sides rather than the back, and the fan's separate airflow channel is rated IPX8. The rest of the phone is rated IP68 and IP69. One independent test, however, reports external and internal temperatures above 58°C under stress, a figure the manufacturer does not address in its official specifications.
The 8,400 mAh battery is 12% larger than the 7,500 mAh of the REDMAGIC 11 Pro, yet the phone is thinner and lighter than its predecessor: it measures 163.03 x 75.96 x 8.55 mm and weighs 223 grams. Charging is rated at 80 W, wired and wireless, with reverse charging up to 22.5 W. The global model's wired charging drops to 80 W from the 120 W of the Chinese REDMAGIC 12 Pro+.
The back is free of protrusions: the camera modules sit flush with the body, housing two 50-megapixel sensors. On the edges are the red Magic Key, which opens Game Space by default but can be reassigned, and touch-sensitive shoulder buttons. The frame is flat metal, and the flush cameras force relatively small sensors.
The phone comes in three memory configurations: 12 GB RAM with 256 GB, 16 GB with 512 GB, and 16 GB with 1 TB. The global version starts at 949 dollars in the United States and 899 euros in the European Union.

In field testing the device shows very high performance, although some tests note a drop in peak output during longer sessions. One reviewer reports more than an hour of Monster Hunter Outlanders at a locked 60 FPS, with battery drain of only 10%.
The software is REDMAGIC OS 12, based on Android 17. The manufacturer promises two years of system updates and three years of security patches.
