Samsung has unveiled its first clip-on earbuds, the Galaxy Buds On, and will put them on sale in South Korea from October 27. The price is 299,000 won (about $226), according to HDblog. For buyers outside Korea, the first positive sign comes from European retailers: according to Android Authority, Swiss stores have already published listings priced between CHF 179 (about $216) and CHF 199 (about $241).
The design is the main difference from earlier Galaxy Buds. The earbuds don't go into the ear canal: they rest on the ear with a flexible structure meant to stay comfortable and secure. The canal stays open, so wearers still hear outside sounds, useful while walking through traffic or working. Samsung has added TwinBoost speakers for stronger bass and technology that reduces sound leakage, so people nearby can't hear the music. The design was already described when Samsung introduced them on October 1, with up to 9.5 hours of music playback per charge.

The AI features are the second highlight. With a compatible Galaxy smartphone, the Buds On can answer calls with a nod and record a voice memo without touching the phone. Samsung also highlights hands-free access to Gemini Live and music playback started with a tap on the back of an earbud, according to Samsung's newsroom.
In South Korea there is an offer: buyers who purchase by November 30 receive two 30% discount coupons for Galaxy Buds accessories, usable until December 20. The model is available only in black.

Samsung has not yet announced an international launch date. Retailer listings are not official confirmation, and dates could change, but they suggest the product is being prepared for other markets too.
The launch comes as the open-ear category grows, and Samsung is now entering with a product of its own. OnePlus has also unveiled its Buds Clip, with a clip design and up to 40 hours of battery life, a sign that more manufacturers are chasing this segment.
