Grand Theft Auto VI will weigh 210 GB to download, according to figures posted by the datamining profile PlayStation Game Size. Insider Gaming says it can corroborate the number. If accurate, the game would rank among the largest ever made by base file size.
The figure is not a surprise. The screenshots and videos shown so far depict a vast open world packed with activities and side content, along with what could be the densest story in the series. Push Square notes that GTA 5 requires a minimum of 148.2 GB according to its PS Store page, so a follow-up was always going to be substantially bigger.

The size also affects the physical edition. Push Square points out that at 210 GB the game would likely need around three Blu-rays, an even bigger problem for Xbox Series X, which uses lower-capacity discs. That may help explain why the physical edition ships with a download code instead of a disc.
Preloading starts on November 12, a week before the November 19 release. That helps players with slow connections, but PS5 owners will need to free enough SSD space first. The figure is still an estimate: Insider Gaming warns it may change until installation, and a day-one patch could add more. Il trailer girato su PS5 base aveva già acceso le polemiche su Xbox, che nel frattempo resta senza una versione dedicata di GTA 6.
An earlier leak had pointed to a development build above 200 GB, though the retail version could shrink once Rockstar trims it. The game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19 at $79.99 in the standard edition, with PC expected in the first quarter of 2027.
