Microsoft Flight Simulator is getting a free update that reshapes the scenery of Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The package, called World Update 23, has been available from yesterday for owners of the simulator, in both the 2024 and 2020 editions.
The core of the work is a visual overhaul of twelve geographic areas, with more detailed terrain and environments. Added to this are 77 custom landmarks, from city architecture to monuments that pilots can recognise from above, and five hand-built airports designed to be landed at and identified accurately.

For a first taste of the region, the update also includes three discovery flights meant to introduce its landscapes, and four landing challenges that test precision. It is the first time the franchise has delivered an update of this scale to this region.
How to get it
The content downloads from the in-sim marketplace at no cost. Before installing, the simulator should be brought up to its latest version, since an older client may not display or recognise the new packages. Close the game, install any pending update through the platform that owns it, and let the in-simulator check finish.
Sources indicate the update is also tagged for Xbox Series X|S, though official support communications focus mainly on PC.
The release follows the development calendar previewed in the September blog, which listed World Update 23 alongside the air race activity introduced with Sim Update 7, of which we covered the free and paid content.
